The wanderer

"The Wanderer", título de un poema anglosajón del Libro de Exeter, siglo X, que provenía de una tradición oral anterior y que Tolkien conocía bien:

Where is the horse gone? Where the rider?
Where the giver of treasure?
Where are the seats at the feast?
Where are the revels in the hall?
Alas for the bright cup!
Alas for the mailed warrior!
Alas for the splendour of the prince!
How that time has passed away,
dark under the cover of night,
as if it had never been!

Y para aunar pasiones he aquí la canción "The Wanderer", que U2 grabó con Johnny Cash y que fue lanzada con Zooropa en el 1993. Cuenta más o menos la historia del propio Johnny. Si aún no has visto "En la cuerda floja", con Joaquim Phoenix y Reese Witherspoon, te la recomiendo. Aquí, en el concierto de tributo:

Ya está disponible, por primera vez en DVD el mítico concierto "Under a blood red sky: Live from Red Rocks" del 1983. Este es mi concierto favorito. Bono con las botas y la bandera blanca, de leyenda.

El nuevo disco de U2 sigue adelante, para su publicación en 2009, con el título provisional "No line on the horizon"
